Why teachers should be appreciated
With the presence of millions of teachers all over the globe the mission of everyone to get good education and escape from the dungeon of ignorance is fulfilled. The amazing accomplishments of many educators of the world deserve to be congratulated, praised, given more salaries and other fringe benefits.
Many people have not really realized the important role many teachers do everyday of their lives. They go to school five to six days a week despite threatened by rain, humidity and all natural calamities. Even if they have problems at home but they all carry them for the benefit of the profession. After all, the students should not also suffer from their problems.
In many countries of the world there are a lot of activities whose prime purpose to give recognition to the role acted by teachers everyday just to mould the children to become good citizens in the future. In the United States there is the so-called “World Teachers Day†celebrated during September of every year. This is the time when teachers are given recognition for all their sacrifices in school.
However, there are many educators who still claim that they do not need much recognition because this is their role as well their mission why they took up education studies. The most important recognition they need is the raise in salaries. In many third world countries the teachers are among those lowly paid professionals. In fact, because of this discrimination there are now existing organizations of teachers so that they pressed the government that they too need some help from the government and not only recognition.
Many teachers claimed even if they are educators but the sad part is they cannot properly send their children to best schools because of these compensation problems. According to them their story is just very similar to a farmer who has no house. Although they claim for good and quality education but they cannot give it to their children. The monthly salaries they receive as government teachers could not even compliment for the daily sacrifices they rendered.
Now, the teachers in third world countries do not only need to be appreciated by the government by their important role in nation building but as well as raising their monthly salaries.
