English Language Learners
United States of America have become a melting pot to every nationality. People across the globe would take the opportunity to work and live in this nation. No wonder that there different kinds of race with their families living in America. It seems American lifestyle, culture, and traditions are sweet smelling aroma to everyone. Until now, America continues its quest to become the leading nation worldwide.
For a foreign individual living in a new set of system, adaptation is a great challenge. In which, it takes months in order to adjust everything. The starting point of adapting the life system in the United States is to learn their main language which is English. This language is a like a mighty tool use by every Americans in order to understand and interact with each other.
To assist the main concern of foreign individuals in learning the English language, teachers and school administrators focuses the English subject. Teachers created lot of strategies in order to make the English language easy and understandable to every foreign individual. Schools across the nation included in their curriculum the English language for the benefits of the foreign students. The students who are studying the English language are called English language learners. The teacher uses different teaching techniques for an easy learning of English language.
Recently, the English language learner’s teacher at Barkers Mill Elementary school uses the PowerPoint system during classroom instruction. In which, PowerPoint presentation contains different English words with the corresponding images on it. This technique helps a lot to learn and familiarize the English words easily. With the association of the pictures on the words it serves a motivating factor for students who haven’t familiarized the English language yet.
In Barkers Mill Elementary School there are about 536 students who are enrolled to English Learning System. The teachers stated that about 360 students spoke Spanish language, while 68 students spoke Korean languages and the rest 108 spoke other languages. Having these scenario it’ very impossible to understand each other without a common language. In order to break the language barrier the English language was introduce to them. Every now and then teachers of English language learner find more ways for developing the system to a higher degree.
