The Appreciative Teacher Appreciation Poems

There are so many ways a teacher can be appreciated on Teacher Day. Of course, one of the most basic is to recognize this special day and allow them to enjoy the benefits of becoming a teacher. Other people have lots of ideas they could think of: programs, gifts, free lunch or dinner, song number, giving cards, and other teacher appreciation ideas.

But one of the most common things an appreciative person could give to his teacher is the teacher appreciation poems. Here are some of the samples students give to their teachers.

The first poem enlisted below is a poem written by a student to her teacher at the end of their class. It may not be timely for teacher’s day, but it is a poem that indeed appreciates teachers.

For My Teacher

As yellow as the sunshine
You welcomed us one by one.
You were always ready and eager
To have a new day of fun

Purple is for the patience
You have shown throughout the year
Helping us through our problems
And making them all so clear

The color Red represents our class
And all the friends we’ve made
And Green for the color go
As we move up to the next grade

Blue is how we feel
Knowing the year must end
We wish you a happy summer
And well wishes do we send

The second poem below is kind of hilarious. The student poet might have been hippy that it reflects on how the poem is being expressed. Nonetheless, the poem still manifests its appreciation to his teacher. It’s a poem worth giving for.

You really measured up
You are “sharp” as a tack
You were “mint” to teach!
Thanks for your hard work!

We are stuck on you!

We are lucky to have you for a teacher
Thanks for holding everything together!

“Soda” you know that we think you are a great teacher?
A note to let you know that you are a wonderful teacher

Lastly, the third poem is filled with much appreciation to a certain teacher given by an appreciative student. Try reading the poem below. This might be the poem you might have been looking for.

I’m bursting with appreciation
For the time you spent with me
From the minute I came through the door
Until it was time to leave.

You planted a kernel of knowledge this year
That in my heart will keep on popping
I’ll try hard to share with others
So it can grow without ever stopping

I’m not trying to “butter you up”
But to me, you’re the “salt of the earth”
You need to know that you helped me grow
And just how much that’s worth!
