Teachers receive Education Teacher Award

There’s no great achievement for teachers but to receive an award for their worthwhile contribution to society and the nation in general because of their solid commitment to education.

During an essay writing contest, two teachers who acted as coaches aside from their career jobs also receive the awards during the meeting on Veterans of Foreign Wars. Those known district winners in the student category include Turner Ashby High School’s Brad Wilfung and ShellBurne Middle School’s Clarkson Wolfe. They both receive their certificates.

For the teacher awardees, they are Language art teacher Elizabeth Nicholson of Stewart Middle School and kindergarten school teacher Bonnie Berry of Ottobine Elementary School.

In his speech before the crowd, Clarkson underscore the role of war veterans in his essay on patriotism, saying being a soldier and a veteran is worth the recognition of the American government. He said the veterans should have all the rights and privileges because without them the United States of America might not have received the freedom they’d been fighting.

He added that honoring them is a fitting ceremony but the most important is to give them the rightful privileges before they could vanish in this earth for them to enjoy also what the younger generation of today enjoyed because of them beating their lives.

Wilfung in his turn discussed about how war veterans shed tears and blood just to win the war and enjoy freedom from the attacking forces during the war. He acknowledged the veterans in a more suitable way – sort of calling them the heroes.

The two teachers who also receive their respective awards said they were very flattered to have also received an award form the contest organizers.

Children as young as five years old already received education about patriotism and this is because of the contribution of teacher Berry. Berry also introduced politics to the children even in their younger ages for the purpose of letting them understand issues and concerns. Just like in a military school, children as young as they are already taught properly about adult discipline and behavior.
