Teacher Appreciation in the UK
Whilst I was at school in England, Teacher Appreciation day was never really celebrated. Although children would bring gifts and sometimes thank you cards at the end of each year, after reading through this site, I really do think the British should think some more about making this a more well known celebration. Not only does it reflect the hard work put in by the teachers in the run up to the summer exam period, it also may prompt more youngsters to consider teaching as a career – something which is becoming increasingly overlooked by school leavers.Â
A celebratory day such as this is also a great way of building team spirit amongst class mates; whether they are discussing what gift to buy or organising a special class production. I certainly hope it catches on!
