Teacher Appreciation Essay Contest in Ohio

The teacher appreciation week is also celebrated in Columbus, Ohio from March 1-31, 2009, with lots of fun fare and activities.

A local franchise, Breads of the World, known for its Panera breads in the southwestern and central Ohio is one of the sponsors of the essay writing contest which is now on its fourth year. The theme of the essay should run on why teacher deserves honor and to be granted the Panera Rising Above Award. It was learned that the winning entry of said essay contest will be announced on May 3-9, 2009, during the celebration of the National Teacher Appreciation Week.

To be eligible for nomination, students should be able to submit essays of at least 100-200 words at the Panera cafes through email or the snail mail. For interested participants, the forms are now available at the Panera Bakery Cafes in Columbus, Cincinnati, Dayton. Forms can be filled up also online via www.Panera-Ohio.com. The nominated educator must possess good qualities and community leadership such as innovativeness, honesty, genuinely fresh in her ideas in school, as well as very creative in all her/his endeavors. This is the main reason why many teachers are now excited in this part of the country since their efforts in school are now recognized by many organizations, both private and government organizations. The grand prize winners, it was learned, will be announced during the celebration of the teacher’s week. Prizes also include gift cards, and many otheres, while the student winners will also receive a set of Nintendo DS and its memory game.

Jeff Rains, Breads of the World president said the teachers are the heroes of tomorrow. He urged students to drop by at Panera Bakery and send emails why teachers deserve to win the Panera award. Even a boarding high school student in the area is also invited to join.

The Breads of the World, the franchise of Panera bread has a total of 49 bakery and cafes in the areas of Cincinnati, Dayton, Kentucky, and Columbus. It is known for its handcrafted breads and many others.
