Scrap Books can also Mean so Much for Teacher Appreciation

Filed under: Teacher Appreciation — outsourcing @ 7:43 pm

As we celebrate Teacher Appreciation Week 2009 we always think of what to give to our favourite teachers simply because we want to show to them now that we truly love them and appreciate their efforts in the classrooms. Yet, many people and supporters for teachers also have no ideas what to give. The giving of scrap books is now one of the best we can offer to them. In fact, many students and children around the world have been taught how to make good scrap books they can give to teachers during teacher appreciation days.

Here are some steps we can consider in preparing for a good scrap book. Remember that many teachers would feel happy seeing their photos on scrap books.

1. Prepare used multi-color magazines – To minimize cost you need to prepare only used magazines. This is where you can cut colored titles and other designs to make your scrap book looks elegant and presentable.

2. Collect all photos of your favourite teacher – Find old photos of your favourite teacher you are to include in the scrap book. You can ask from your classmates. I’m sure they have old photos of school events where you favourite teacher was also included.

3. Prepare used car boards or any hard boards – Your scrap will look like a hardbound material if you also use card boards to make it nicely made. Covered the card boards with white bond paper by pasting it so that it would be glued properly. Cut the card boards in the same sizes and start connecting them by using clips or whatever you like. You can also use glue to make them hardbound.

4. Place the photos of your teachers in every page – Paste the photos in the card boards according to your design concepts. Your creativity will determine how good you are in making your scrap book.

  1. We have made the cutest book for our Kindergarten teacher online. We asked all the parents in the class to upload any photos they had taken at school to Shutterfly.com — Then we created a hard-back photo book following the whole year from everyone’s photos. We ordered two copies — one for the teacher and one for the parapro. The nice thing is we’re sending out the link to the site so now all the parents have access to these photos and can print individual photos that they wouldn’t have ever had or can print the whole book for their family if they choose! it turned out lovely and we can’t wait for out teacher to get it!!

WE’re talking today about Teacher Appreciation Week on my mom blog in Atlanta — check out what all the moms are saying — They feel strongly about it — http://blogs.ajc.com/momania
