How should schools help promote teacher appreciation week
Teacher appreciation Week is a very fitting celebration for our teachers all over the world. During this time, many schools would schedule their own kind of appreciating the noble contribution of educators in nation building. The celebration could be lavish or simple according to the budget and efforts of students or the groups supporting the teacher appreciation week celebration. But how should school owners help the meaningful celebration of teacher week in the US or in other countries of the world?
Increase teacher’s salaries
This is the most important support the teachers want to receive or hear from their bosses or the school administrators and owners themselves. Many teachers in the US still need increases in their salaries. Although a lot of overseas educators working in the US are saying they receive enough salaries and benefits in the US as compared to their countries in Asia and other countries of the world.
Free annual uniforms
The teacher’s uniform of teachers serving the highest good of all should have been given free to them. At least with the meager salaries they are receiving they can still wear new uniforms without getting from their pockets. In many countries of the world we cannot deny the fact that teachers are the ones paying their uniforms which they think an added burden from their already short budget for the family. There are some schools whose teachers wear old and faded uniforms because they are still adjusting to their budgets.
Hazard benefits
Educators claim they should be given an added benefit in the form of hazard fees as the daily rigid works in classroom are still considered hazardous. They claimed they are always prone to TB and other diseases inside the classrooms while having classes. In other schools world wide hazard benefits are usually given to works in the field such as field nurses and other health care professionals.
Well ventilated classrooms
Teacher’s organizations also claim their members are clamoring of their rooms because of no enough facilities such as water, boards, desks, computers, and other equipment needed for a sound and ideal classroom. This problem is common in schools run by the government because of lack of budget. Surveys showed private schools are more secure than government schools.
