The Best Teacher Appreciation Poem You can Give to Teachers

Friday, March 16th, 2012

Just like some people say, the best gift you could ever give to someone special is prayer. And so it is. Forget about the material things because these are temporary. But for prayer, it is known to be the most eternal and irreplaceable gift you can ever give to your special someone. Even if prayers are not always the option people to take, it’s the most genuine gift you can give to those close to your heart.

This Teacher Appreciation Day 2012, allow your favorite teachers to receive a kind of gift so genuine that material things cannot comprehend its worth. As written by Joanna Fuchs recognized as one of her teacher appreciation poems collection, I suggest you have a copy of the teacher prayer below and give it to their most special day.

Teacher Prayer

Dear Lord, bless these teachers mightily
as they seek to teach, enrich and guide
Your precious children.
Grant them abundant resources to do their job,
intelligence, wisdom, sensitivity, kindness,
and the material things that make it possible
to turn some of these tender green plants
into the strong, stable trees that will lead our nation,
to transform some of these buds into brilliant flowers
that will bring light, color and happiness
to all who encounter them,
and to give every one of them the tools
to be creative, and productive and to develop
their own kind of success in the world.
Lord, wrap Your loving arms around these teachers
who give so much of themselves to grow our youth
into creative, responsible adults.
We pray that You will immerse them
in your boundless, transcendent love.
We pray that You will strengthen and soothe them
when they have given so much of themselves
that they need Your extra attention, Your extra care.
We love, respect and admire these teachers, Lord
and we pray that you will watch over them always–
these special people who hold our children
and our future in their hands.
Amen.

Students Defend their Teachers against Planned Lay-Off

Thursday, March 3rd, 2011

-We want to get though to Walker “this was the united voice of Northwestern High School opposing the budget cut bill and expected budget cuts for education passed by Governor Scott Walker. Along with major budget cuts statewide, Wisconsin will lay off some of their teachers without question ” however; this was strongly opposed by NHS students which lead them to the streets to express their disagreements.

-We love our teachers was the battle cry of these students as they walk along the highways toting some signs which protest against the unfair plan of budget cutting. These students which trade off some activities in school just to participate tried to put on the message of concern for both their future and for their teachers as well.

According to the students, cutting of programs and budget cuts are injustice for teachers who worked hard to be in such phase of their career. Budget shortage will also affect them especially when the double sizing of class size will be implemented.
The issue is not new and arguments aren’t new either. Teacher all over the US had their collective bargaining rights compromised.

The scheme was understood by many of the states residents; however, a lot people especially students are disappointed because teachers weren’t given the chance of expressing their sentiments regarding an issue which will affect them the most. This is also very devastating for students since universities will be increasing their tuition fees in order to cope up with rising cost.

The protest started with Facebook and text messages among students. The protest idea fired up when the preliminary non-renewable notices were given to teachers of Maple School District, Friday.

Concern students were also convincing motorists and passers-by to join the protest. These students were given permission and encouragement by their parents. Parents were aware of the situation and want to help teachers by supporting their children. Some of these children cancelled their activities in school in order join the rally; despite concern of administrators to do other form of activism.

But students were so determined to ask the government to cancel those unjust schemes and try other options which lay-off is not included. This is definitely a special teacher appreciation gift coming from them. These students fully understood the importance of their teachers to somehow engulf their time in defending the abused rights of their mentors.

Regarding the attendance and performance of these students in school, parents are allowed to excuse their children with their permission to five days per semester. And students from NHS will not be having trouble for being absent at school for five days. However, the principal of NHS sent them a message to express disagreement in other ways than protesting on the streets. Definitely, there would a struggle for teachers and students this coming national teacher appreciation week.

Fun Times at School to be remembered on Teacher Appreciation Week

Wednesday, February 16th, 2011

This National Teacher Appreciation Week let us revisit all the funny and unforgettable moments we had with teachers. Mostly, every school has their own set of hilarious experiences. But to mention a few, there are common wacky moments which teachers and students all over the world had experienced. Some of these are:

-At the first day of class, the teacher walks confidently into a class of new faces and immediately grabs her/his attendance record and says, -Mr. Richardson, Davis, Smith, Peter? the teacher keeps on reading the attendance sheet while students are having question marks on their face. -Anyone minds raising their hands? the teacher continues. Hopefully, an extroverted student brought the courage to say, -Excuse me maam? We would love to have you as our teacher but I’m afraid your class might be the next room…

Another thing which is very common among schools worldwide is the teacher label. Students often label their teacher into unique personalization of their characters being shown in the class. Some would be very embarrassing and few are quiet positive. These are some of them which students and teachers can revisit this teacher’s day.

  • Mrs. Terror ” these are teachers where students feels terrorized by their means of implementing class rules. At the first place, teachers do not meant to horrify students with their strict character, its just they find strictness as effective ways of handling a naughty classroom. But deep inside, these teachers are caring mothers and more friendly at the same time when showed with respect.
  • Miss Smiling “some of these teachers are practicing teachers and new ones. Because of their enthusiasm in having their first batch of class, they can’t help but smile at every student they encounter. Definitely, it’s a good thing for old and new teachers to smile because emotions are contagious.
  • Miss/Mr. Universe ” these teachers are found to be very attractive to students and many male students are forced to listen whatever subject they handle because of their charm.

If students can make a video of all the fun experiences they had with their teacher, a full length DVD disk would not be enough. All of these memories serve as a priceless teacher appreciation gift for them either good or bad experiences.

Competitive Baltimore Teachers Highly Demanded

Tuesday, February 15th, 2011

Baltimore City ” teacher’s day won’t be that happy for some teachers in the school district. Teachers will be laid off in order to mitigate the effect of several budget cuts in the state. Parents are having great concerns on how would this affect the education of their children. Others are angry about the initiative because it merely focuses on financial aspect and not on student’s education.

The buyout plan states that teachers with more than 10 years of experience will be offered with an early retirement plan covering 75 percent of their salary over five years. The normal salary of a teacher in the state is $60,000 annually which means $45,000 is the 75 percent divided into 5 years “so teachers will be expecting $750 package monthly.

Aside from an early retirement package, those who will be accepting the offer will be granted full pension benefits when they reach the retirement age. However, they won’t be entitled to any fringe benefits, such as health insurance and the privilege to enter the education system again except from substitution.

It is the first early retirement package in Baltimore comes at a time when the state is grappling with the $73 million budget gap including a $15 million state budget cut in education.

Officials are hopeful that this will put ease to the problem of budget cuts despite parents’ discordance of the initiative. The scheme will definitely, put teacher’s skills into a big challenge and only those effective ones will have their teacher appreciation gift of being able ton stay on the teaching field despite budget cuts.

Meanwhile, city school leaders are finding ample ways of finding funds and mutually beneficial solutions for teachers and students. In the last three years, the district has made continuing effort resulting to tremendous progress “definitely, caused by effective teachers of the state.

Making Everyday a Teacher’s Day

Sunday, February 13th, 2011

Students get confused of the gift they should to their mentors on teacher appreciation week and teacher’s day ” when in the first place they will only look into their selves to find the perfect gift. Yes, students who are trying hard to perform well in their studies are the best gift for teachers.

Here’s how to be a good student and offer the best teacher appreciation gift for them everyday.

¢ Come to class on time ” perhaps the gift of being punctual is the hardest favor for many students but think of how annoying for teachers to see arriving late at class.

¢ Participate in class discussions ” a class discussion is like having a conversation with your close friends. To make the talk more lively and interesting, everyone must participate. In that way, there is a mutuality and bonding created.

¢ Make and pass assignments on time “again, think of assignments as favors asked by your mother. Seriously, you won’t like your mother to get upset by not fulfilling their small requests.

¢ Say the name of your teacher ” calling them with their beautiful names gives them the feeling of being appreciated.

¢ Do your best in class ” the pride of teachers are on the hands of their students and the attitude of students will always be pointed towards their teacher. How about giving your teachers the respect and reputation they deserve? Love and adoration for good teachers and understanding for those you do not love much.

¢ Be polite to them ” greeting them along the way is not only a projection of courtesy but reflects the kind of family you came from.

¢ Be straightforward and don’t be intimated by classmates ” if you like to continue making your teachers happy, then you must go straight to your goal and never mind those classmates who are calling you names.

All of these actions will never be easy to follow throughout the year. However, once students make their teachers happy? They won’t have to get crazy about any material present for teacher’s day “because these things are not new to them and will always be part of their selves.

McDo shows Teacher Appreciation

Tuesday, June 15th, 2010

Alter talking about the Bing campaign last week, I want to highlight a noble deed from another huge company. I am talking about The McDonalds stores in Triad Aria who organised their own Teacher Appreciation Day two weeks ago to thank teachers for their outstanding performances in and out classrooms.

During the last week of school, teachers could get free breakfast at McDonalds on Wednesday with as result that dozens of teachers were standing in line to get a free breakfast sandwich and a drink. This is a small gesture but different teachers say that it means a lot for them to get these small kinds of recognitions. It shows that people in the community do appreciate the teachers and it feels good for them to know.

It is not the first time that McDonalds holds these kinds of promotions. For instance in the Triad Aria they raised more than 50000 dollars for local schools. This is a great teacher appreciation gift and teachers will remember this.
