  1. Send a teacher appreciation card
Like we said, we will be detailing simple ways here. That’s why, simple as it seem it could be, sending your teacher an appreciation card would means so much to her. You may want to make your own created card or just buy it on stores as you write your most touchable words of appreciation. Simple, yet it is extremely effective in expressing words of gratitude.
  2. Participate for a Cause
There has been a petition going on that actually help -Save Great Teachers nowadays. You may be a person of few words and want to express gratitude by actions, and then you may want to sign for this petition and put students as first priority. Aim that you may keep those teachers who are really working hard to help our children accomplish something.
  3. Give a small gift card
Do you personally appreciate the teacher of your nursery? Giving a small gift card to a store would mean so much for your child’s teacher. You could let your child give the gift for you. By this the teacher can buy supplies for the class without necessarily using her own finances. This would mean a lot to her.
  4. Poem Writing or Thank you Letter
Allow your child to write a poem or thank you letter to his teacher. You can actually help him out if he is younger. The effort you and your child made would make his teacher smile so much because she will know that you also gave the effort to make it. It would mean so much for her.
  5. Making a useful bouquet
Have you noticed that there will always be a sort of vase placed on a teacher’s table? You might want to test your creative skills and make a useful bouquet with pens, pencils, markers, highlighters. That would be too inventive and effortful for someone who deserves such exertion.

It’s All about Teachers and their Most Awaited Teachers Day

Wednesday, August 24th, 2011

Are you familiar with a famous teacher movie of Julia Roberts entitled -Mona Lisa Smile? It was an exciting film of a life of a teacher and how she deals each personality of her -spoiled and high-ranked college students.

It was a tough job for Catherine (Roberts) to implement authority on the students, who used to -bully teachers, but the movie goes to conquering each dilemma and how teacher Catherine, in the end, touched the students’ lives and enabled them to pursue the dreams that they have studied on the first place.

Teacher Catherine was an inspiration, if we make a definition to her. What are indeed the other definitions of teachers from other people? Here are its characterizations:

A teacher is the image of Brahma.
- Manu

The teacher is the maker of man.
- Sir John Adams

The true teacher is he who can immediately come down to the level of the student, transfer his soul to the student’s soul and see through and understand through his mind. Such a teacher can really teach and none else.
- Swami Vivekanand

Every teacher and educationist of experience knows that even the best curriculum and the most perfect syllabus remains dead unless quickened in to life by the right method of teaching and the right kind of teachers.
- Secondary Education Commission

The teacher’s place in society is of vital importance. He acts as the pivot for the transmission of intellectual traditions and technical skills from generation to generation and helps to keep the lamp of civilization burning.
- Dr. S. Radhakrishnan

A teacher can never truly teach unless he is still learning himself. A lamp can never light another lamp unless it continues to burn its own flame. The teacher who has come to the end of his subject, who has no living traffic with his knowledge, but merely repeats his lessons to his students, can only load their minds. He can not quicken them.
- Tagore

These definitions can be used as teacher appreciation ideas when you make your self-made cards or notes for your favorite teachers. These will be very inspiring words of gratitude for teachers who look forward to their most awaited -recognition “the teachers day.

So if you wanted to give something that defines the teacher that you have been looking up to, these definitions would make a fine description. If you want, you can add up the list. Feel free to comment.

What happen to Olympia? Is the cut due to the world recession? Teachers suppose to receive priorities through their stipend. Even though that the teacher union has disagreed with the legislation of pay cuts for the period of the union negotiations, nonetheless, they have inadequate power to fight for their right.

According to the prepared testimonial by House Ways and Ross Hunter, Means Chairman that was made public in the Seattle Times ” -This isn’t the budget any of us would have written, given the choice. But our job is to make the most responsible decisions we can in these tough times. I think we do that in this budget. It is thoughtful and sustainable. ” where the amount of pay cuts to $179 million and $4 billion are in part of cuts projected by the lawmakers to plug a budget deficit amount of $5 billion in the state.

A spokesperson for the Washington Education Association, Rich Wood said that the budget cut has finely ripped over $2 billion from K-12 and higher education that could probably hurt students. The result of the cut could possibly cause the following:

  1. Cannot not keep and catch the attention of high quality teachers
  2. Can be the ground of severe over-crowding of classrooms
  3. It can affect the quality of education

And above outcome is not good at all! Wood added that the said budget cuts fund for larger than 1,000 education jobs. Next year there are expected to be more students but fewer teachers. He concluded, -The legislature did not really focus on kids when they prepared this budget.

This Is A Beautiful Song
By Elton John

She was long and she was lean
She’s a middle-aged dream
And that lady means the whole world to me
It’s a natural achievement
Conquering my homework
With her image pounding in my brain
She’s an inspiration
For my graduation
And she helps to keep the classroom sane
Oh teacher I need you like a little child
You got something in you to drive a schoolboy wild
You give me education in the lovesick blues
Help me get straight come out and say
Teacher I, teacher I, teacher I, Teacher I need you
I have to write a letter
Tell about my feelings
Just to let her know the scene
Focus my attention
On some further education
In connection with the birdies and the bees
So I’m sitting in the classroom
I’m looking like a zombie
I’m waiting for the bell to ring
I’ve got John Wayne stances
I’ve got Erroll Flynn advances
And it doesn’t mean a doggone thing

Teacher Teacher
By Dragonette

I’m so glad to finally reach ya
You know how I wanna treat ya
You’re my very favorite teacher, teacher
It’s my turn to learn ya something
Won’t no one be omethi’ us in
No one ever tells on teacher, teacher
If it’s against the rules

Tell me where to meet ya, teacher
So I can complete ya, teacher
A little one on one will get things done

Mama’s going to call the preacher
Teacher you an I we’re on the run
So it’s against the rules
I won’t go back to school

Don’t know too much but I know enough
I learned a little bit about the good stuff
Not too much but I know enough
I learned a little bit about the good stuff
I learned a little bit about the good stuff
I learned a little bit about the good stuff

School Day
By: Chuck Berry

p in the mornin’ and out to school
The teacher is teachin’ the Golden Rule
American history and practical math
You studyin’ hard and hopin’ to pass
Workin’ your fingers right down to the bone
And the guy behind you won’t leave you alone

Ring, ring goes the bell
The cook in the lunch room’s ready to sell
You’re lucky if you can find a seat
You’re fortunate if you have time to eat
Back in the classroom, open your books
Keep up the teacher don’t know how mean she looks

Soon as three o’clock rolls around
You finally lay your burden down
Close up your books, get out of your seat
Down the halls and into the street
Up to the corner and ’round the bend
Right to the juke joint, you go in

Drop the coin right into the slot
You’re gotta hear somethin’ that’s really hot
With the one you love, you’re makin’ romance
All day long you been wantin’ to dance,
Feeling the music from head to toe
Round and round and round we go

Hail, hail rock and roll
Deliver me from the days of old
Long live rock and roll
The beat of the drums, loud and bold
Rock, rock, rock and roll
The feelin’ is there, body and soul

Wonderful Teacher

With a special gift for learning
And with a heart that deeply cares,
You add a lot of love
To everything you share,
And even though
You mean a lot,
You’ll never know how much,
For you helped
To change the world
Through every life you touched.
You sparked the creativity
In the students whom you taught,
And helped them strive for goals
That could not be bought,
You are such a special teacher
That no words can truly tell
However much you’re valued
For the work you do so well.
