Teacher of the Year Awards 2009

Selection of the Teacher of the Year Awards 2009 is one of the grandest and most memorable recognitions for our educators for this is the time when their efforts in educating our children will be finally rewarded. This is, in fact, very commendable activity which should be emulated by many schools of the world as well as other groups and organizations that would always love to give due recognition to our teachers, especially on Teacher Appreciation Day 2009.

In Springfield High School at least five teachers are finalists for the 2009-2010 Teacher of the Year, based on a news release reaching this website Monday. They were lucky because they were chosen from among the 42 nominees of the said search. On April 14, they will be formally recognized by the Board of Education during a board meeting and this is really good news for the teachers. This means a success and achievement for them especially those who shall be lucky to receive this most prestigious award.

The lucky educator will be specially honored on April 20 at the University Plaza Convention Center after they will be properly interviewed by the selection committee. They were: Ms. Julia Armstrong, social studies teacher, Pipkin Middle School; Fred Romaine, third-grade teacher, Robberson Elementary School, Steve Fielding, art teacher, Kickapoo High School; Lisa Lilley, Spanish teacher, Central High School and Dave Davis, language arts/communication arts teacher and HTV magazine adviser, Hillcrest High School.

It is also expected that with the upcoming celebration of Teacher Appreciation Week 2009 in the US, many schools will be making a difference in recognizing the teachers in a whole new teacher appreciation week ideas. The celebration is aimed at making our teachers happy, and to continue to strive for excellence. We cannot deny the fact that the quality of education really depends on how our educators perform in schools.

With the upcoming celebration of Teacher appreciation week 2009 many students, teachers and supporters are now very excited about the fun fare and other highlights of the celebration in May. Basically, the celebration will start in the 3rd of May and all schools and learning institutions in the United States are taking part. In fact, this year promises to be a memorable year for everyone. Since this festival started in 1980, many memorable achievements have had already taken place, which also pave the way for the greater realization of the Americans that teachers are truly the hope of the nation in making the younger generation respectable and professionals. In many years, the teacher appreciation week has already proliferated in many countries of the world and it also created impact not only for the educators but everyone.

The teacher appreciation week usually revolves on various celebrations which recognize the special role teachers played in classrooms. There are usual gift-giving activities, greetings cards, special parties, and all other activities which help boost the morals of teachers in the US. In this week, teachers are really filled with momentous events organized by student organizations all over the world.

In some learning institutions both the students and teachers are taking part in school fun activities like sports, entertainment and other school activities. Many also considered it a welcome break for the hectic school schedules. The regular daily school routine is really giving everyone a headache, not only teachers but students as well, so that the teacher appreciation day 2009 events for many schools world wide are really very special.

While many teachers receive boxes of chocolates, bouquet of flowers and other presents, many school and students organizations are also hoping this year’s celebration would be more creative and the happiest celebration ever for students, their families and teachers. Some said giving of apples and even flowers will already be a thing of the past as this year promises to be a very creative celebration. There will be theater shows or buying of homemade teaching equipment so that the recipient teachers would really enjoy for much longer periods.
