Class valedictorian Tim Kressman and salutatorian William Keyes are but praises to the great contributions of their teachers which resulted to their successful journey as this year’s top graduates at Arlington High School. They are now preparing their speeches for the upcoming graduation on June 29. They said great teachers make good students because they mold the young minds become responsible citizens of the country.
Keyes said he knew he is among the top-ranking students in the class but never expected to get the second highest position as salutatorian. He said he was very thankful he made such a very outstanding performance he never expected to happen to him. He only knew he work hard and studied hard to remain in the top graduating class. Keyes during his stay in said school has been very active on Arlington’s music program. He is into the school’s marching band, played trumpet Jazz machine and orchestra. He said at first he was worried whether he could perform well in class while involve in many extra-curricular activities. During his first year in the school the Arlington’s admirals grabbed the championship crown. In his college, Keyes is reported to be joining Carnegie Mellon University and would take up computer and electrical engineering, one of the best courses in the said university enrolled by international students.
Meanwhile, Kressman is now very excited as he will be enrolling at Yale University. He said becoming class valedictorian is also the price of too much study and hard work just like Keyes. He also credited the best teachers in Arlington for their best efforts in imparting the knowledge to the students and this made them excel in class. Kressman is also into music and he is also part of the school’s music program. He plays baritone saxophone at the Jazz Machine. In fact, for three consecutive years he played the saxophone in the school’s band. In his senior year he became a drum major responsible of the band’s good performances. He said he always wanted to excel so that he can record them in his future CV cover letter which he believes one way to impress the employer.
Since the creation of this very worthwhile program which aims at recognizing the efforts of the teachers all over the globe, millions of students and teachers are now aware that teachers need more appreciation so that they are always motivated to continue with their commitments of imparting knowledge to students.
