Filed under: Teacher Appreciation Week — admin @ 2:01 am

Teacher appreciation week in the US is a very special day to celebrate the important roles teachers play everyday in classrooms. The Parent-Teachers Club has prepared many appreciation activities for the teachers. This celebration is usually done during the first full week of May every year.

The following are how teachers were appreciated during the last celebration in May this year with lots of organizations supporting the teachers.

In Georgia, all teachers were treated a luncheon by the Parent-Teacher Club while teacher volunteers hold classes in the classrooms. Happy faces were seen from the teachers as they took their meals while they are also entertained by selected entertainers

Janice Goff, a teacher from Dry Branch Elementary School in Georgia thanked the sponsoring parent-teacher’s organization for recognizing their efforts. She said such activity was a very wonderful thing she experienced, having seen all the teachers sitting down together and enjoy a very sumptuous meal.

“This is a wonderful luncheon activity for the teachers. I consider this a very commendable activity aimed at appreciating the worthwhile contribution teachers do to the young generation,” Goff added.

She also said it was the second time she had observed an activity which gathered the teachers together and eat their meals together.

Sarah Maxwell, a teacher at St. James Episcopal School in Del Rio, Texas, said she was very happy to note that during the whole week celebration they are being served breakfast everyday.

“I was also happy our lounge was full of decorations such as spring flowers and butterflies made of papers. Everyday, there are available table cloths made by the students in different classes,” Maxwell said.

She said this way of recognizing their efforts was a very wonderful gesture of supporting the efforts of many teachers of the world.

Public schools and private schools teachers

Filed under: Teachers — admin @ 9:36 am

For those of the readers who have not yet categorized the public school teachers from the private school teachers we would try to give a little bit of information to you so that you can differentiate both the educators in the private and public schools.

You may try to view these teachers as to their educational qualifications, compensations, benefits, experiences and all other aspects.

Public school teachers

The public school teachers are the majority in as far as population of teachers are concerned. Since there are many public schools in the communities public school teachers are more visible than the teachers in private schools.

Public school teachers received higher salaries than private schools. Although there are few private school teachers in international schools that are having higher compensation – still majority of highest paid professionals in the education industry are found in the government service. Aside from the being the highest paid the teachers also receive lots of benefits such as mid year bonus, year-end bonus, clothing allowances, hazard pay, thirteenth month pay, and other benefits. In the United States of America and other countries of the world - the public schools teachers are also given good compensation and other benefits. However, there are many big private colleges and universities in America that also give higher salaries to their teachers.

In public school all the teachers are licensed teachers and they have their national IDs confirming that they pass the teacher’s licensure examination given by the government.

Private school teachers

In third world countries the private school teachers are given low pay by their employers. This is true in many small schools which only have few teachers. During Christmas they are only given the thirteenth month pay as their bonus.

As far as educational qualifications, there are some teachers in private schools that are not yet professional teachers. You can find these teachers usually in vocational schools. Although they are not permitted by the government because they have not yet pass the national examination for teachers but the schools hire them for a very low salary.

In the US private school teachers are well respected teachers because they belong to very respectable colleges and universities. The same is true wit the teachers in the progressive countries in Europe. The private schools teachers cannot teach if they are not yet licensed teachers unlike in third world countries. There have been strict implementations of the laws for the protection of the students as well as the credibility of schools.

Filed under: Teachers in the US — admin @ 6:46 am

Haven’t you ask yourself why until now there are still many teachers that are in demand in the United States as well as in other countries of Europe? Few good and accurate answers to these questions are discussed in this topic so that you can have at least a little knowledge about the many answers we can list later if you further your research.

Teachers are supposed to be given proper attention by any government because they are the once very responsible in the mission of the state to have as many professionals that will eventually help build the nation.

Here are three main reasons why teachers are in demand in the US. In fact, for the last five years the US government massively hires thousands of teachers from Asia as well as from other parts of the globe.

Teachers are well appreciated – There is now shortage of teachers in America. Since many immigrants have become US citizens the population in America has been tremendously growing each year. This is the reason why the US government continues to hire more teachers in Asia and other parts of the globe. The Education Department in the US has been creating wonderful programs to appreciate the noble deed every teacher does everyday. In fact, they celebrate “National Teachers Day” every September to give due recognition and appreciation to the teachers.

Teachers are well compensated – The compensation of teachers in America is very excellent. Since they are highest paid in America many teachers in Asia are also very eager to work abroad as teachers in the US. They know they would be paid in dollars and they would earn big. They have also many benefits aside from their regular salaries. In the contrary, in many third world countries public school teachers have been protesting for very low pay. The teachers have organized themselves in many developing countries and they’ve been airing their grievances to the national leadership.

Teachers are given much recognition – The teachers in the US are given much recognition as compared to teachers in third world countries. The recognition the teachers receive give them more encouragement to continue their mission of making the youth responsible citizens of the country to contribute to nation building. The National Teachers Day passed by the senate is a real manifestation of the support to the noble causes of thousands of teachers in America.
