Increasing the teacher’s compensation

Filed under: Teachers — admin @ 6:50 am

A raise in the teacher’s compensation is one good effort studied by the government since most public schools are claiming for better salaries. Teachers who have higher salaries have no problems and they attend to classes very professional. On the other hand, those that are having problems are, of course, affected by his financial dilemma.

In many countries of the world the national government has already seen this problem on teachers and they had responded quickly so that teachers are focused only on quality education and effective teaching . They have no problems with their financial needs so that they can always assure the school children and students are satisfied with everyday classroom discussions.

The quality of education is not only present in private schools and colleges but as well as in public schools. While there are private schools that cannot produce quality graduates the same happens with public schools. The quality of education is also dependent on the capacity of teachers. Since many teachers in public schools are receiving low pay they are usually having problems with their daily activities. They lack comprehension to their students and also lack high esteem to deliver quality education. That is why it is always the perception of many parents who have the capacity to enrol their kids in private schools – saying that public schools are behind when it comes to the quality of education they actually need from the teachers. The parents who have this notion usually enrolled their children into private institutions if possible.

In reality, this notion of many parents considering that only private schools can produce quality education is not true. If you have noticed in many competitions such as quiz bee, oratorical and declamation contests participated by both private and public schools there are many instances that contestants coming from ordinary public schools emerge as champions. There are many instances that private schools succumb to defeat when they have encountered the brightest contestants in public schools. These clearly manifest that the quality of education is also present in many public schools. While it is true that public schools have no enough lab facilities, they were also able to produce top math wizards, English and literature experts and all others. If the government can only support public institutions in terms of providing enough classrooms and laboratory facilities, public schools can be as competitive as private schools in all aspects. The private schools are only very attractive because they have good and architectural-designed-campuses.

A simple appreciation “thank you” for the contribution of teachers

Filed under: Teacher Appreciation — admin @ 12:41 am

The contribution of millions of teachers all over the globe should be appreciated by the students as well as their parents. Since teachers play vital roles in helping the youth to become good citizens of every nation the government must also give enough recognition and benefits for teachers.

In many countries of the world there are teacher associations that give life and encouragement to their group by conducting teachers’ day and observing teachers’ week celebrations. There are also Parents and Teachers Associations (PTAs) that work hand in hand to help promote good projects and do some fund-raising activities. In the process they are able to finance the constructions of school buildings, fences and other school projects. With this contribution the government’s responsibility is also lessened. The problem of inadequate classrooms in many public schools is also addressed.

In the United States, a teacher’s organization has lobbied the national government in honouring the many contributions of teachers. The organization wrote letters to government leaders and politicians and to Eleanor Roosevelt, so that they were able to persuade the 81st Congress. As a result, the National Teachers Day was proclaimed in 1953.

The National Education Association in America (NEA) that conducted a survey what kind of appreciation teachers need so that they can also feel they are part and parcel of the building of a beautiful and progressive nation. The NEA found out that only a simple “thank you” for teachers is already enough recognition; so that their contribution to society is also recognized. This means that many teachers are aware of their responsibilities and they don’t need more recognitions or whatever financial support to boost their profession. However this findings made by NEA was also different in many parts of the world especially in third world countries. In the Philippines, the national organization of teachers has claimed for across the board increase in their salaries as well as other benefits due them. They’ve even made several protests in the main suburbs of Manila, the capital of the country to show their dismayed reaction to the continued denial of the national government to their plight.

Why teachers should be appreciated

Filed under: Teachers — admin @ 1:39 am

With the presence of millions of teachers all over the globe the mission of everyone to get good education and escape from the dungeon of ignorance is fulfilled. The amazing accomplishments of many educators of the world deserve to be congratulated, praised, given more salaries and other fringe benefits.

Many people have not really realized the important role many teachers do everyday of their lives. They go to school five to six days a week despite threatened by rain, humidity and all natural calamities. Even if they have problems at home but they all carry them for the benefit of the profession. After all, the students should not also suffer from their problems.

In many countries of the world there are a lot of activities whose prime purpose to give recognition to the role acted by teachers everyday just to mould the children to become good citizens in the future. In the United States there is the so-called “World Teachers Day” celebrated during September of every year. This is the time when teachers are given recognition for all their sacrifices in school.

However, there are many educators who still claim that they do not need much recognition because this is their role as well their mission why they took up education studies. The most important recognition they need is the raise in salaries. In many third world countries the teachers are among those lowly paid professionals. In fact, because of this discrimination there are now existing organizations of teachers so that they pressed the government that they too need some help from the government and not only recognition.

Many teachers claimed even if they are educators but the sad part is they cannot properly send their children to best schools because of these compensation problems. According to them their story is just very similar to a farmer who has no house. Although they claim for good and quality education but they cannot give it to their children. The monthly salaries they receive as government teachers could not even compliment for the daily sacrifices they rendered.

Now, the teachers in third world countries do not only need to be appreciated by the government by their important role in nation building but as well as raising their monthly salaries.

The role of teachers in nation building

Filed under: Teachers — admin @ 4:30 am

How many of us have realized the important role of teachers for the betterment of our nation? If I say it right only very few of the thousands of people in the community have realized the great importance of educators so that a developing country could move forward.

If we may compare the educators in third world countries to developed countries of the world we could really find the many differences in as much as the teachers compensation, the government’s support, as well as the response of more parents to help the teachers for the their undertakings for the benefits of many students.

The governments in developed countries have been helping the schools so that the benefits of millions of teachers could be given. Like for instance in Massachusetts, there are many activities you can find between teachers, parents and the local governments. Everyone knows that their active involvement in pursuit of quality education as well as liberating the poor from the bondage of ignorance is much of a greater responsibility. This is not just some kind of a petty problem because this already involves all the people in many nations of the world.

The sad thing is many leaders know that education could really play a vital role in as far as liberating the people from the bondage of poverty and ignorance but the only problem is the real action. Many leaders did not even bother increasing the compensation of teachers. If a country continues to plunge to poverty, it is because the people continue to cry for good education. Many could not apply for better jobs because of no education. If this is always the case in many third world countries of the world, how can they be able to escape from the dungeon of ignorance?

In other Asian countries many governments are trying to institute measures to give education to their fellowmen a boast. In the Philippines, the president as well as the senate, continue to give free high school education . For college students, the government has also set aside funds for study now pay later programs, cultural and minority scholarship programs for indigenous peoples and other scholarship programs to give access to poor but deserving students.
