World Teacher´s Day on 5th October: show your teacher your appreciation
World Teacher´s Day which is celebrated internationally on the 5th of October has been designated by the United Nations Education Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).On this special day, children can show their appreciation to their teacher.
Teacher appreciation has been shown through all the years in a number of various ways. Examples are children plays, contests, parades and cut-outs.
But the
World Teacher´s Day can also be celebrated by public events like seminars, forums, demonstrations, meetings, rallies, etc. These public events are normally carried out by the teachers to draw the attention of the people to show their roles and the valuable role they play in the society.
Teacher Appreciation can also be shown by writings from the children about their teacher or they can prepare school acts for their teacher.
World Teacher´s Day is celebrated every year in more than 100 countries, not only in the countries where the teachers are better paid and have better teaching conditions, because of thegreater investment in education, but also in countries where the lives and liberty of the teachers are under threat from guerrilla groups or oppressive regimes.

World Teacher´s Day is basically a day on which the children/students honour their teachers and recognize the lasting contributions, which they make to their lives. As most of the people know, the work of a teacher can be very difficult sometimes, because of poverty or the violence and stress in classes, whether it is in a temporary classroom in a refugee camp or in a well-developed city. These are some reasons why children, the school, and organizations celebrate
World Teacher´s Day, but the most important reasons to celebrate World Teacher´s Day is to make the teachers feel special and to show the teachers the appreciation they deserve for their wonderful work.
